Pseudonym or No?

So when do you write with a pseudonym, and if so, how do you keep it up?

I'm wondering because I have written a short historical Christian fiction piece and I am using the name Ehud Gershom... though a few folks have told me that isn't easy to maintain/market, or keep two identities. But my fantasy trilogy is so full of demons, warlocks, and violence, that it seems a little weird to be writing about Christian virtues while I'm also describing a demonic invasion...

Thoughts, anyone?

  1. I write with a pseudonym, CR HIATT, and I have to admit, it has been tricky at times. Especially, when someone wants to friend me on Facebook, and my personal account is under my real name, Cathy Carson. Klout also has trouble distinguishing between CR HIATT and Cathy Carson, so my Klout score will probably never skyrocket. I'm not a whiz at that, anyway, so not sure that it matters. On Twitter everyone pretty much knows me as CR, so in the end using the name has been okay. Not sure if that helps, though. :-)

  2. See, I feel the same way. I want to write paranormal/fantasy romance but I also want to write children's books so I am thinking a pseudonym would definitely be the way to go on that one.

  3. Thanks for the replies! I think just keeping it straight is the tough part, for sure... I think for Twitter it's fine if people know about the pseudonym... if they suggest the book to others that is the key, I guess.

As a side note, I've never heard of Klout :o
